Austin Aynes: Wiki, Bio
Austin Aynes is a native of Indiana, where the filming of HGTV’s “Good Bones” takes place. He has lived there all his life, being born in a small town called Speedway in Marion County, Indiana. Mr. Ayes is a graduate of Cardinal Ritter High School in Indianapolis, class of 2013.
At high school, Mr. Aynes held several interests, including varsity football. He also began dabbling in demolition work during this time. However, demolition was not a full-time gig yet for Austin, who enrolled in the biology program at Butler University, Indianapolis.
After earning his BS degree in biology, Mr. Aynes sent out his application to study in a physical therapy school but found little success.
Straight out of university and directionless, Austin went back to his roots. He began working in demolition for his college friend Tad Starsiak, who, as it turned out, was the half-brother of Mina Starsiak Hawk.
Tad Starsiak recommended Austin for Two Chicks and a Hammer, Inc. — a family-owned home renovation company run by Tad’s half-sister, Mina Starsiak Hawk, and his mother, Karen E. Laine.
Austin’s tenure at Two Chicks and a Hammer coincided with the debut of the first season of “Good Bones” on HGTV.
The show premiered on March 22, 2016, and centers around Mina and Karen, who have taken it upon themselves to renovate the neighborhoods in their hometown of Indianapolis. “Good Bones” is currently in its sixth season — which premiered on June 29, 2021.
Austin formally holds the position of construction coordinator and works in the demolition team under Tad as the “demolition dudes.” Alongside Tad, Austin has appeared in 38 episodes in total of “Good Bones.”
He recently gave up his day job of working in a physical therapy clinic to work full-time at Two Chicks and a Hammer. He is also confirmed for the upcoming seventh season of “Good Bones.”
Outside of his full-time gig, Mr. Aynes also takes on side hustles. He recently bought a house in his hometown and is hard at work in a small garden he purchased. Besides that, Mr. Aynes remains a huge sports fan and supports the local Indiana sports teams.
