2020 was a difficult year for most people, especially when you factor in the COVID-19 Pandemic. One American, however, was fortunate enough to go home with a prize package adding up to $2 million.

That year, Susan O’Gorman, who is a native of Georgia, was selected out of a group of 144 million Americans. She and her family were set to get a 3,500-square-foot house that was well-designed and fully furnished.

HGTV showrunners enlisted the help of Susan’s family to surprise her virtually. They couldn’t do it personally as they usually did because of the pandemic.

Susan was very excited about the prospect of moving to Hilton Head Island. For a long time, the island was just a place she and her family vacationed. Now they were getting the chance to own a home there. To deal with hefty mortgage packages, the network also offered Susan $250,000.
